History
The Stonewall Social Club was formed by a close group of Friends and Family
that had hunted and fished together for years. We bounced around from camp
to camp while trying to find a home. That’s when one of our members
suggested building a permanent camphouse on his property. We borrowed the
money and built the original camphouse in the Summer and Fall of 1990 and was christened
the Stonewall Social Club. The name originates from the old
Stonewall community and Stonewall Church located just south of the Camp.
According to local history General Stonewall Jackson camped in the area during
the War for Southern Independence. The "Social Club" aspect of
the name best describes the cast of characters that frequented the camp during
those early years and the name has endured.
